A Southern District of New York jury awarded a research scientist $250,000, after finding in her favor on a battery charge, finding that plaintiff had been touched without her consent in the workplace.

Victory at Summary Judgment Stage in Disability Discrimination Lawsuit

Imbesi Law represented a former CUNY librarian who was denied extra time to finish a required degree while suffering from depression. A judge allowed the case to move forward, finding there was a question of fact about whether CUNY should have provided the extra time as a reasonable accommodation.

City of New York’s Motion Denied, Plaintiff’s Claims Advance

The firm represented a cook for the NYC Department of Correction in an action alleging discrimination based on race, sex, and veteran status, as well as retaliation for prior protected activities. Defendants repeatedly denied her promotions while she was subjected to retaliatory comments from coworkers and supervisors. The court denied the City's motion for summary judgment, allowing the plaintiff's claims for employment discrimination and retaliation to advance to trial.

Successfully Negotiated Severance Agreements

Broker Successfully Removes Decades Old Customer Complaint from his Record

Imbesi Law's client, a financial advisor, sought expungement of a 12-year-old customer complaint alleging unauthorized transactions in a variable annuity contract. Through representation by Brittany Weiner, the client testified the sale was authorized and he was not the registered representative involved. The arbitrator recommended expungement, concluding the allegations were false.

Court Denies Summary Judgment – Client’s Commission Case Survives Early Dismissal Attempt

Imbesi Law represents a real estate agent who alleges unpaid commissions from her former team leader at Compass, filing claims for breach of contract, quantum meruit, and unjust enrichment. The defendant's motion for summary judgment was denied by Judge Louis Nock, allowing the client to proceed with her case to recover the unpaid commissions due to remaining material issues of fact.

Handyman Hospitalized and Fired After Ceiling Collapse — Lawsuit Filed

Lawsuit Alleges Workplace Breastfeeding Discrimination, Featured by NY Post

Imbesi Law P.C. filed a lawsuit on behalf of a former employee against Neway Fertility Corp., alleging the clinic failed to provide a suitable location for the employee to express breast milk in the workplace, as required by federal and state law. FINRA Arbitration Clears Broker’s Record, Removes Defamatory Termination Explanation

Attorney Brittany Weiner of Imbesi Law P.C. successfully represented a FINRA broker in an arbitration that resulted in the expungement of her Form U5, changing the "Termination Explanation" from her former employer's original reason. The FINRA arbitration decision found the initial termination explanation on the analyst's Form U5 to be false and defamatory, granting the expungement.
